SVA and BFA Photography and Video present Untitled (Gender and Representation) 2016, a day long symposium featuring Kate BornsteinZackary Drucker (BFA 2005 Photography), Grace DunhamEthan James GreenRon GreggM. LamarZanele Muholi, and others to be announced.

Untitled (Gender and Representation) 2016 seeks to address the complex issues of gender that have dominated cultural conversations in the last several years, and the ways in which representation has significantly participated in the discourse. The conference will include panels on queer histories and photography, gender outlaws, fashion and gender, transfeminism, and gender and performance.

The conference is organized by Stephen Frailey, chair of the BFA Photography and Video department and co-chair of the MPS Fashion Photography department, and Joseph Maida, faculty member and creator of the course The New Hegemonic: Gender, Race, Ethnicity and Sexuality in America.
